The CCC's Accomplishment Report for 2021 reflects a pivotal year marked by global urgency in climate action. Despite pandemic challenges, the Commission played a crucial role as the forefront government agency in advancing climate initiatives nationwide. Notably, the submission of the country's inaugural Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) to the UNFCCC showcased a commitment to a 75% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, aligning with the Paris Agreement's 1.5-degree Celsius goal.
2022 CCC Accomplishment Report
The CCC's Accomplishment Report for 2022 showcases significant strides under the new cohort of leadership. Notably, PHP289.7 billion was tagged in the 2022 budget for climate change expenditures, rising to PHP458.6 billion for 2023. Despite global disruptions, the Philippines actively participated in international climate diplomacy, addressing key issues at UNFCCC sessions and the Conference of the Parties.
